Description
Indications
- Cortal (Aspirin) is indicated for the relief of fever and pain.
- For the relief of headaches; painful discomfort and fever of colds and flu; toothache; pain following dental procedures; body aches and inflammatory swelling due to arthritis and rheumatism; functional menstrual pain and other minor aches and pains.
Dosage & Administration
- Administer with or without food.
- Adults: Take 1-2 tablets every 4 hours. Do not exceed 8 tablets in a 24-hour period.
- For children under 12 years, consult a doctor.
Precautions & Warning
- Aspirin should be cautiously employed in patients prone to dyspepsia or known to have a lesion of the gastric mucosa. It should not be administered to patients with hemophilia and is not recommended for infants under one year of age.
- Caution is necessary when renal or hepatic function is impaired and particularly in children when the patient is dehydrated.
- Children and teenagers should not use this medicine for chickenpox or flu symptoms before a doctor is consulted about Rey’s Syndrome, a rare but serious illness.
- Nursing mothers and pregnant women should seek the advice of a doctor before using this product, especially in the last trimester.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Aspirin, salicylates, or NSAIDs. Refer to manufacturer labeling for further detail.
- If you have asthma, persistent or recurring stomach problems, gastric ulcers, or bleeding or are taking a prescription drug for arthritis, anticoagulant, diabetes, or gout unless directed by a doctor.
