Description
Indications
- Gabapentin is indicated s adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial-onset seizures, with and without secondary generalization, in adults and children aged 16 years and above.
- Gabapentin is indicated as monotherapy in the treatment of partial-onset seizures, with and without secondary generalization, in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above.
- Gabapentin is indicated for the treatment of peripheral neuropathic pains such as painful diabetic neuropathy and post-herpetic neuralgia in adults.
Dosage and Administration
- Administer with or without food as prescribed by the physician.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to gabapentin or any component of the formulation. Refer to manufacturer labeling for further detail.
Common side-effects
- Dizziness and/or drowsiness; Respiratory depression; Hypersensitivity reactions; Suicidal ideation and suicidal tendencies.
