Description
Indications
- Upper respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsilitis)
- Acute otitis media
- Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, severe community-acquired pneumonia)
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Uncomplicated Chlamydia trachomatis urethritis and cervicitis
Dosage and Administration
- Tab & Susp: This medication may be administered with or without food. It may also be taken with meals for better absorption and to reduce GI discomfort.
- Cap & Extended Release: Administer on an empty stomach (Take 1 hr. before or 2 hr. after meals).

Reconstitution
- To make 20mL: Add 10.5mL water.
- Reconstituted suspension is stable for 5 days.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to azithromycin, other macrolide antibiotics, or any component of the formulation. Refer to manufacturer labeling for further details.
Common side-effects
- Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, Skin rash
