Description
Indications
- Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infection; Pneumonia-community acquired; Sexually transmitted infections; Respiratory tract infections; Skin and soft tissue infections
Administration
- Tab & Susp: May administer with or without food. May be taken w/ meals for better absorption & to reduce GI discomfort. Cap & Extended Release: Administer on an empty stomach (Take 1 hr. before or 2 hr. after meals).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to azithromycin, other macrolide antibiotics, or any component of the formulation. Refer to manufacturer labeling for further detail.
Common side-effects
- Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, Skin rash
