Description
Indications
- For initial treatment or retreatment of pulmonary tuberculosis in association with other tuberculosis agents.
Dosage and Administration
- Adult:
- One capsule (450mg) daily for patients with less than 50kg body weight.
- 600mg daily for patients with more than 50kg body weight or as prescribed by the physician.
- Tuberculosis: It must be given in conjunction with at least one other anti-TB agent.
- Administer on an empty stomach (Take 1 hr. before or 2 hr. after meals).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to rifampicin or any component of the formulation. Refer to manufacturer labeling for further detail.
Common side-effects
- Flu-like symptoms, Skin rash, Urticaria, Stevens-Johnson syndrome
