Description
Indications
- Tamoxifen is effective in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer in women, and men.
- In premenopausal women with metastatic breast cancer.
- It is an alternative to oophorectomy or ovarian irradiation.
Dosage and Administration
- Administer with or without food.
- For patients with breast cancer, the recommended daily dose is 20-40mg. Dosage greater than 20mg per day should be given in divided doses (morning and evening).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Refer to manufacturer labeling for further details.
Common side-effects
- Flushing, Skin rash, Amenorrhea, Hot flash, Weight loss, Irregular menses, Vaginal discharge
